The Center for Anatomical Sciences in the Department of Physiology and Anatomy at the University of North Texas Health Sciences Center in Fort Worth, TX invites applications for an Assistant Professor position in biomechanics or clinical anatomy. We seek an outstanding, broadly trained anatomist whose research program has strengths in biomechanics, clinical anatomy, medical device development, medical imaging (especially Fluoroscopy and CT), and/or orthopedic surgical techniques.

A 1,400 square-foot research laboratory is currently under construction to support this faculty position. Start-up funds to equip this laboratory are also available. The Center for Anatomical Sciences is already home to the BioSkills of North Texas Laboratories, an 8,000-square-foot facility supporting anatomical research, education, and outreach. The Center also houses dedicated research laboratories and equipment for histology, medical imaging analysis/morphometrics, forensic anthropology, thermoregulatory studies (environmental chamber), and paleontological fossil preparation. The successful applicant will have 1) an active record of research and scholarship, 2) a history/potential of obtaining external funding, 3) the capacity to attract and mentor MS/PhD students in the Structural Anatomy graduate program, and 4) the ability to teach dissection-based human gross anatomy to medical, physical therapy, physician assistant, and/or graduate students.

The anticipated start date is July 1, 2024. Applicants will ideally have a PhD or equivalent degree in hand by this date but exceptional ABD candidates will be considered.
