The Department of Anthropology invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in biological anthropology to start August 2024. This position is part of a cluster of recent hires whose research interests are thematically related to issues of Crisis, Resistance, Sustainability, and Resilience.

Geographic area and research foci for this position are open; we seek a biological anthropologist whose work lies at the intersection of human-environment interactions, sustainability, and resilience. Research areas may include, but are not limited to, biocultural perspectives on topics such as climate change and human evolution; human immunology, epigenetics, the microbiome, and/or human variation; molecular and/or isotopic studies; and impacts of the changing environment on human health and disease. We are looking for a candidate that complements but does not duplicate existing areas of interest in the department. The successful candidate must be able to develop courses in their areas of interest and teach introductory courses in biological anthropology (with lab) and human evolution. The successful candidate will also contribute to the graduate curriculum and supervise graduate student research.
