Michele Goldsmith

Dr. Goldsmith has conducted comparative studies on the behavioral ecology of lowland and mountain gorillas in the Central African Republic and Uganda, respectively. Later work focused on investigating the impacts of habituation and tourism on mountain gorilla behavior, ecology and well-being. Findings from this work led her to consider the ethical implications of using ecotourism as a conservation tool in great apes.
