It is with great pleasure that we announce the 4th annual meeting of the European Society for the study of Human Evolution (ESHE), which will be held in Florence, Italy from 18-20 September, 2014.

For the first time, the ESHE meeting will consist of three full days of plenary lecture sessions, parallel lecture sessions and poster sessions. In addition, this year we will also experiment with a new Pecha Kucha session, offering 12 fast-paced talks, strictly limited to 6 minutes and 40 seconds each, based on a 20 images x 20 seconds format. More information on the Pecha Kucha session can be found on our website or here http://www.pechakucha.org.

The meeting will be followed by an excursion on Sunday, 21 September to the Tuscan cave of Grotte di equi. Each evening we will offer a separate special event: On Thursday evening we will offer a Keynote lecture, on Friday evening there will be a meeting of the ESHE General Assembly and on Saturday evening we will throw a closing party where all participants are welcome to join.

Meeting Registration for the 2014 ESHE Meeting in Florence is now available. If you wish to attend the closing party or excursion, please note this on your registration form. The deadline for pre-registration is Thursday, 31 July. At this time we would like to invite those interested in presenting at the meeting to submit abstracts for Podium, Pecha Kucha or Poster presentations. The deadline for abstract submission is Monday, 5 May.
