AJPA Editor-in-Chief Position Announcement

The AAPA is continuing to consider applications or nominations for the position of Editor-in-Chief of the American Journal of Physical Anthropology. The Editor is responsible for receiving, arranging for review, and all correspondence with authors for the over 400 submissions to the journal annually. The Editor also serves as a member of the AAPA Executive Committee and nominates Associate Editors to serve on the Editorial Board of the journal.

The Editor works closely with the journal’s publisher, Wiley-Blackwell, who provides for a full-time editorial assistant.  Partial compensation for buy-out time from teaching or administrative duties is also available. The appointment is for six years, beginning July 1, 2013.  Applicants should provide a statement of interest that includes their vision for maintaining the high visibility and professional level AJPA has achieved, ideas for improvement or advancement of the journal, and an indication that local institutional resources (e.g., adequate release time, office space) and support are available.  Nominees will be contacted by the search committee to solicit interest and appropriate application materials.  All applications and nominations should be sent to:  Dennis H.
