by Ed Hagen last modified Oct 17, 2012 07:23 PM
The executive board of the AAPA is pleased to announce the winners of two new competitions. The early-career mentoring award has been given to Dr. Laurie Reitsema, Assistant Professor, Department of Anthropology. The student-liaison award has been given to Ms. Jill Scott, who is a PhD student at the University of Iowa.

The broad purpose of both awards is to encourage the Junior members of the association to become involved in the AAPA.  The aim of the early-career mentoring program is to give recent PhD’s in biological anthropology the experience necessary to be able to run for elected AAPA positions.  The specific aim of the student-liaison award is to have a representative of the student body who can communicate with the president and with the board.

Congratulations to both awardees!
