AAPA Auction Reminder

by Ed Hagen last modified Mar 13, 2012 02:49 PM
This is just a reminder that the AAPA Auction will be held Thursday evening, April 12, at 7:00pm,. The silent auction will begin at 7:00pm with the live auction beginning around 8:30pm. As in previous years, the Wiley-Liss reception will run concurrently in an adjacent room.

Auction donation form

Please note that we ALWAYS need auction items and that any-&-all ideas are welcome.  Thus far, we have casts of both of the Australopithecus sediba skeletons (MH-1 and MH-2) from Lee Berger and the Institute for Human Evolution at the University of the Witwatersrand, plus casts from Bone Clones, and the usual array of books, artwork, carvings, and photos.  As we won’t know for sure what we have until everyone shows up in Portland, PLEASE keep thinking of possibilities. All proceeds go to  the AAPA Pollitzer Travel Awards.  So if something (or someone to contact) springs to mind, please don't hesitate to let Mark Teaford know!  Also, please don't hesitate to spread the word among your colleagues!

There are 3 ways to get your items to Portland: (1) hand-carry them, (2) mail them to the local arrangements folks at the University of Oregon, John Lukacs or Josh Snodgrass, or (3) send them to Mark Teaford (who has now moved to High Point University - see contact info below!).

Also, if you wish to help with the setup or running of the auction, please contact Mark Teaford, as there are bound to be tasks to do on Thursday before and during the auction!

Many thanks for your time and efforts.
