The Career Development Panel event for the 2017 AAPA was focused on one of the many career challenges facing PhDs: the fact that increasing numbers of our membership are dependent upon funding from granting agencies to accomplish their research goals. This year, representatives from the National Science Foundation, the Leakey Foundation, and the Wenner-Gren Foundation provided data and introductory remarks about their respective foundations and the application process, and then opened the floor to questions. In the table provided here we have summarized important information about funding opportunities for investigators on their way to earning a PhD and for established investigators. Happy grant writing!
