PA WMN - AAPA 2017 Events

The Physical Anthropology Women’s Mentoring Network (PA WMN) invites you to participate in our two major events for AAPA 2017!

1) We will have a panel discussion and luncheon on Thursday, April 20 from 1:15 – 2:15 pm in Riverview 2 in the New Orleans Marriott. Several panelists (at varying career stages) will discuss “How to Advocate for Women in Science.” This event is intended for women who are graduate students or post-PhD (at any stage).

If you would like to attend the event, you can purchase lunch (to be served at the event), or you can come and participate without lunch. Registration is required for this event, as seats are limited. In order to register for the event, please visit: https://goo.gl/PxLeVU

There are several lunch choices available for $35. If you would like to purchase a lunch, please visit https://squareup.com/store/QUBRI.

At the site above, you can purchase lunch for yourself, an additional lunch for someone else (please email me if you want it to go to someone specific), and/or donate an unspecified amount to be used for the fees associated with using Square; for fees associated with hosting a lunch; for costs associated with making signs for the Science March.

2) Happy Hour – Thursday, April 20 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm in the Preservation Hall Foyer. We will have a cash bar, and you can come and mingle with women in the field! This event is intended for women at any stage. We will also make signs for the Science March (on Saturday), and a very generous anonymous donor has pledged $1000 toward materials for these signs! Registration is not required for this event.
