UNIVERSITY OF THE WITWATERSRAND SENIOR LECTURER IN BIOLOGICAL ANTHROPOLOGY POSITION

THE MINIMUM/CORE REQUIREMENTS: The School of Anatomical Sciences wishes to appoint a Senior Lecturer in the field of Biological Anthropology. It is expected that the appointee will meaningfully contribute to the teaching, research and course development of the School. The position is a full-time tenure-track position. The School is research orientated and has well-equipped laboratories.



QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:  A minimum of a PhD is required and applicants are expected to have an excellent track record in terms of publication in leading international journals and research funding, and the capacity to attract and supervise postgraduate research students.   Excellent research opportunities exist in the School.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Teaching of osteology, human biology and palaeoanthropology to under- and postgraduate science students; teaching of anatomy to medical and therapeutic science undergraduate students; administration of courses; generation of research papers and participation in the academic activities of the School and the Faculty.

REMUNERATION:   Dependent on qualifications and experience.  The package includes a provident fund, medical aid and bursaries for self and dependants, subject to the University’s regulations.
