University of South Carolina Post-Doctoral Position in Bioarchaeology and Epidemiology

The South Carolina Institute of Archaeology and Anthropology at the University of South Carolina is seeking an outstanding candidate for an 11 month post-doctoral position focusing on the analysis of epidemiological transitions through human skeletal remains. The researcher will be expected to organize a conference related to this topic and to prepare a related edited volume. He/she also will teach one course in human osteology. An ideal candidate will be a biological anthropologist or bioarchaeologist with demonstrated expertise in osteology and paleopathology. Candidates must have a PhD in anthropology in hand by the start date of August 16, 2010.

The application must include (1) CV; (2) names of 3 references; (3) a two-page prospectus outlining a focused theme for a conference centered on epidemiological transitions.
