University of North Carolina at Greensboro Department Head Dept. of Anthropology

The Department of Anthropology at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro invites applications and nominations for the position of Department Head, the appointment to be effective August 1, 2013. The appointment carries permanent tenure and may be at the rank of either Professor or Associate Professor, depending upon the individual’s qualifications and experience.


The Head is expected to provide effective administrative and intellectual leadership for the department, to have a strong commitment to the department’s undergraduate mission, to support the faculty in their work as teachers and researchers, to supervise further development of the undergraduate program and undergraduate research opportunities, and to establish strong ties between the department and university initiatives. The department welcomes applications from individuals representing any area of anthropology, particularly those whose empirical research would complement the emphases already represented in the department.
