University of Missouri Department of Anthropology Postdoctoral Fellow

The Department of Anthropology at the University of Missouri invites applications for a postdoctoral fellow. The department has recently added Dr. Napoleon Chagnon (National Academy of Sciences Member). We are looking for candidates to help further develop Chagnon’s long-term ethnographic field data with the Yanomamö into significant scholarly contributions and who can form linkages to our other current faculty. Preferred skills and interests include bioinformatics, statistics, demography, and geographic information systems (ArcGIS). Job duties include data management and analysis of large-scale, spatially-explicit demographic databases. Candidates should have PhD in hand. The salary is $40,000 per year with full health care benefits. The terms of employment are negotiable with a start date in January or February 2013.
