The biology department at James Madison University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in human anatomy, to start August 2014. Associate rank may be considered for an experienced candidate with demonstrated scholarly productivity and exceptional teaching abilities. A Ph.D. in a relevant field is required, with post-doctoral experience preferred. Teaching responsibilities will focus on anatomy courses within the department: a large, lower division undergraduate anatomy course, possible upper level biology majors courses and graduate level cadaver-based anatomy courses.

 

Applicants must show evidence of excellent teaching and communication skills, including familiarity with instructional technologies.  The successful candidate will be expected to establish an independent research program involving undergraduates and master’s students.  Preference will be given to candidates whose research exhibits potential for collaboration with current faculty.
