Harvard University/European Synchrotron Radiation Facility Postdoctoral Research Engineer in Dental Tissue Virtual Histology

We are searching for a postdoctoral fellow to assist with virtual histological investigations of hominin dental remains. The two-year position (subject to review after one year) will be primarily based at the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (Grenoble, France) and/or at Harvard University (Cambridge, MA USA) beginning January 1, 2012. Primary responsibilities will include reconstructing, processing, and analyzing virtual histological data, and may include assisting in the acquisition of novel data.

Familiarity with computed-tomography, 3D image analysis software (ideally VG Studio MAX 2.1), and knowledge of primate dental anatomy and histology are desired qualifications. The position may also include opportunities for the development of independent research projects.
