Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences Anthropology Division post-doctoral position

The Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences Anthropology Division is pleased to announce a one-year post-doctoral fellowship in Forensic Anthropology. The HCIFS is a dynamic forensic institution located in Houston, TX on the campus of the Texas Medical Center. The Anthropology Division consists of three staff forensic anthropologists and several grant funded research positions. The division provides services for skeletal biology and trauma analysis, unidentified decedent processing, death scene response, and epidemiology. The division receives approximately 275 bone and identification cases and attends approximately 35 death scenes a year. The recipient will receive training in scene recovery and documentation, skeletal biology and trauma analysis and unidentified decedent processing, and will contribute to the Division’s ongoing research program.
Prerequisites included a doctorate in anthropology with an emphasis in physical anthropology. A background check and drug test are required prior to appointment.
