The newly formed Department of Health Sciences at DePaul University seeks applicants for a tenure-track assistant professor of Human Anatomy & Physiology to begin September 1, 2014. Successful candidates will be broadly trained in Human anatomy and or physiology with a strong commitment to undergraduate education in a diverse environment and an interest in contributing to a growing major and department. We especially encourage applications from candidates with a background in human health and disease. A Ph.D. or equivalent advanced degree required; post-doctoral and previous teaching experience preferred. The faculty member will be responsible for developing new courses in Human Anatomy and Human Physiology using both in person and online/hybrid methods. Teaching load includes six course-equivalents per three-quarter year which will include Human Anatomy and Physiology and some combination of: core courses in Health Sciences such as Introduction to Health Sciences, Health Research Literacy, Health Sciences Capstone and advanced undergraduate/graduate courses in candidate’s area of expertise. Start-up funds are provided. The Department is housed in spacious and well-equipped teaching, research and support facilities, including a confocal microscope, BSL2 facility, and a 2,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art staffed animal care facility.
